Infosys Headcount: Infosys reported its employee metrics along with its fourth-quarter results for the period ended March 31, 2026, showing a sequential decline in its workforce but stability in key employee ratios.
The company’s total employee base stood at 328,594 as of March 31, 2026, compared to 337,034 in the December 2025 quarter, marking a decline of 8,440 employees on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis. However, on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, the headcount was higher than the 323,578 recorded in March 2025.
Within the workforce, software professionals, who form the core delivery segment, declined to 310,887 from 319,364 in the previous quarter, a reduction of 8,477 employees. On a YoY basis, this segment remained higher compared to 306,599, indicating net hiring over the year.




The sales and support function remained largely stable at 17,707 employees, compared to 17,670 in the December quarter and 16,979 in the same quarter last year, showing marginal growth.
Attrition showed a slight sequential rise. Voluntary attrition (LTM – IT Services) stood at 12.6 per cent in Q4 FY26, compared to 12.3 per cent in the previous quarter. However, it remained lower than 14.1 per cent recorded in the same period last year.
Gender diversity remained unchanged sequentially. Women employees accounted for 39.5 per cent of the workforce, the same as the previous quarter, and higher than 39.0 per cent in March 2025.

Infosys also reported strong financial performance for Q4 FY26. Net profit rose 21 per cent year-on-year to Rs 8,501 crore, while revenue increased 13.4 per cent to Rs 46,402 crore, beating estimates.

The company declared a final dividend of Rs 25 per share. However, the stock came under pressure in overseas markets, with ADR falling over 5 per cent after the company issued cautious revenue growth guidance of 1.5 per cent to 3.5 per cent for FY27.
In comparison, other IT majors also reported mixed workforce trends during the quarter.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported a total headcount of 584,519 at the end of FY26, marking a decline of 23,460 employees on a year-on-year basis, though it added 2,356 employees in the March quarter.
HCLTech reported a total workforce of 227,181 at the end of Q4 FY26, with a net addition of 802 employees during the quarter. The company said it hired 11,744 freshers during FY26, including 1,712 in Q4.
Wipro reported a headcount of 242,156 in Q4 FY26, up by 135 employees sequentially. The company’s attrition rate declined to 13.8 per cent from 14.2 per cent in the previous quarter.
