CBSE re-evaluation portal cyber attack: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reported a significant spike in cyberattack attempts on its re-evaluation and verification portal, even as thousands of students accessed the platform for post-result services.
According to updates shared by the board’s cybersecurity team, the portal experienced a denial-of-service (DoS) attack attempt that generated nearly 1.5 million hits within just two minutes. In addition, more than 1 lakh unauthorised file access attempts were detected and blocked in real time.
Despite the disruption attempts, officials confirmed that the system continued to function smoothly. At present, the portal is supporting over 8,000 concurrent users. By 3:00 pm on the same day, more than 16,000 students had successfully completed their submissions for verification and re-evaluation requests.

In response to user feedback and system load, the board has also extended session time limits to ensure a smoother application experience. Cybersecurity teams remain actively monitoring the platform to prevent further disruption and maintain service stability.

The Chairman and Secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education have been transferred, according to ANI reports. As per the report, an inquiry committee has also been constituted to investigate the procurement of On-Screen Marking (OSM) services by the board.
CBSE had earlier activated its portal for Verification of Issues and Re-evaluation of answer sheets, allowing students to apply online for post-result review services.
As per official guidelines, Aadhaar-based verification has been made mandatory for login due to security reasons. Students without Aadhaar can use the Aadhaar details of a parent, guardian, or relative, provided the demographic details (name, date of birth, and gender) match the Aadhaar holder.
The application window for verification and re-evaluation remains open from June 2, 2026, to June 6, 2026 (midnight). No offline applications or late submissions will be accepted.
The fees for seeking verification of issues noticed on answer scripts are set at Rs 100 for each answer script, whereas for the re-evaluation application, it stands at Rs 25 per question. However, it should be noted that payments are accepted only through online modes, including UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking.
The verification procedure includes such aspects as missing pages, blurred pages, wrong answer sheets, or evaluation discrepancies. Multiple issues can be raised by students across subjects in a single application.
For re-evaluation, candidates must specify question numbers and relevant page details before final submission. Once the “Freeze and Proceed to Payment” option is selected, no further changes can be made.
The board has advised students to carefully review all details before final submission, as only one application for verification and one for re-evaluation is permitted per candidate. Applications will be considered complete only after successful payment confirmation.
Students can also track the status of their requests through the portal after submission. A visual guide and tutorial video have been made available to assist applicants in completing the process.
CBSE stated that all requests will be examined, and outcomes will be communicated after the completion of the review process. The board has urged students to adhere strictly to the deadline and official instructions.
