Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) performance in West Bengal, calling it a 'historic victory' and a strong mandate against 'fear, appeasement, and those who protect infiltrators.' In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Shah said the result reflects the people’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi over what he described as the “politics of fear” practised by the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC).
"Hats off to the people of Bhabanipur. Their mandate has made it clear what fate awaits an anarchic ruler," Shah said in the post.

Shah expressed gratitude to the people of Bengal, stating that the mandate marks a moment of pride for BJP workers across the country. “From the origin of Maa Ganga at Gangotri to Gangasagar, the saffron flag of BJP is flying proudly,” he said, attributing the victory to the “sacrifice, struggle, and dedication” of countless party workers, many of whom faced violence but remained committed to the party’s ideology.
He also paid tribute to BJP workers who lost their lives, saying the people of Bengal have honoured their sacrifices through this electoral mandate. Shah congratulated BJP leaders, including national president Nitin Nabin, West Bengal state president Samik Bhattacharya, and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari for their efforts.
Reiterating the party’s commitment to the state, Shah said the BJP would work to restore Bengal’s “lost glory” and realise the vision of a “Golden Bengal,” invoking the legacy of iconic figures such as Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Subhas Chandra Bose, and Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
Beyond Bengal, Shah thanked voters in Puducherry for giving the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) a second consecutive mandate. He credited Chief Minister N Rangasamy and local BJP leadership for the alliance’s success, describing it as a victory of “Politics of Performance.”
In Tamil Nadu, Shah expressed gratitude for the support extended to the BJP and NDA, assuring that the central government would continue working toward the state’s development and cultural preservation. He also acknowledged the efforts of state party leaders and workers.
Referring to Keralam (formerly Kerala), Shah noted an increase in the NDA’s vote share and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the vision of a “Viksit Kerala,” while praising party workers for their efforts.

Shah also highlighted the NDA’s “historic hat-trick” in Assam, calling it a strong endorsement of the government’s decade-long efforts to ensure peace and development in the state. He credited both Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for transforming Assam “from a land of unrest to a land of hope and development.”
Congratulating Assam BJP leaders, including state president Dilip Saikia, Shah said the repeated mandate reflects people’s unwavering trust in the BJP’s “double-engine” governance model.
