Income Tax launches TRACES 2.0 portal to simplify TDS compliance system

The Income Tax Department has launched TRACES 2.0 to simplify TDS compliance under the Income-tax Act, 2025. The new portal introduces the Tax Year concept, replacing earlier terms and reducing confusion. It offers a modern interface, access to historical data, and a centralized dashboard to view Form 26AS, AIS, and TDS credits. Users can download certificates and make corrections easily. While it improves transparency and efficiency, TDS payments will continue through the e-filing portal.
