Smallcap BSE-listed fintech stock has announced a stock split, together with a bonus issue. In today's trade, the stock ended higher by over 4 per cent at Rs 1,109.1 per share. The talk we are talking about is Algoquant Fintech.
With a maximum return of 19,472 per cent, this company is a technology-driven trading entity that is engaged in trading financial instruments as well as offers automated trading solutions. The company's peers include 360 ONE WAM, Angel One, IIFL Securities and ICICI Securities among others.
Importantly, at its recently held board meeting on Thursday, the company announced and approved the following:

Increase in authorised share capital: The company's authorised capital has been increased from Rs 3.5 crores to Rs 30 crores.
Bonus share issuance: The company issued bonus share in the ratio of 8:1 with the investor being eligible for 8 additional bonus shares in lieu of every share held in the investor's demat account as on the record date.
"The issue of Bonus Shares in the ratio of 8:1 i.e. 8 (Eight) new fully paid-up equity share of Rs. 1/- (Rupees One only) each for every 1 (one) existing fully paid-up equity share of Rs. 1/- (Rupees One only) each, to the eligible equity shareholders of the Company as on the record date by capitalisation of reserves (out of free reserves), subject to the approval of the shareholders of the Company," said the company's filing with the exchanges.
The record date for reckoning eligible shareholders entitled to receive bonus shares will be communicated later, it added.
For the bonus share issue, the company will be utilising the balance in free reserves to the extent of Rs. 24,98,63,136 for implementing the Bonus Issue
Stock split: The company, alongside, announced a split in the ratio of 1:2. The idea behind the stock split was to enhance the liquidity of company's equity shares and to encourage participation of retail investors by making equity shares of the company more affordable.
