San Francisco-based AI startup Giga has raised $61 million in a Series A round. The startup was founded in 2023 by two IIT Kharagpur engineers, Varun Vummadi and Esha Manideep.
The latest round was led by Redpoint Ventures. Y Combinator and Nexus Venture Partners also participated.
Giga builds voice-based AI agents that help large companies handle customer service through realistic and quick conversations.

The system is designed to sound natural, respond fast, and work across several languages.
In a video announcing the $61 million fundraising success, the founders revealed their AI agents handle hundreds of thousands of conversations every day.
Manideep, sharing the video on X, diplomatically said that he was not excited about the $61 million they had raised, but was rather excited about what the company would do going forward.
“I am excited about the $61 Million,” said Vummadi.
